Beauty and Renewal

As we welcome the month of May, we are reminded of the beauty and renewal spring brings. This season is not only a time for nature to awaken but also an opportunity for us to reflect on our own spiritual growth and renewal.

In May, we celebrate the joys of new beginnings. The flowers bloom, the trees regain their leaves, and the world around us is filled with vibrant colors. Just as nature experiences renewal, we too are invited to rejuvenate our spirits. This month, let us focus on the ways we can grow in our faith – weather through prayer, study, or service to others.

Mark your calendars for some exciting events this month:

  • April 27th – Grad Sunday at 10 a.m. following by a Fellowship Dinner for the grads. Everyone is asked to bring food to share.
  • May 1st – National Day of Prayer. The Bridge City – Orangefield Ministerial Alliance National Day of Prayer event at Bridge City Park at 11:30 a.m.
  • May 11th – Mother’s Day Service. Join us as we honor the mothers and mother figures in our lives with a special message and tribute.
  • May 13th – Area Men’s Fellowship hosted by First Christian Church in Sour Lake. There will be a meal at 6:30 p.m. following by a special program.
  • May 25th – Memorial Day Remembrance Service. We will take time to honor and remember those who have served our country.

This month, meditate on 2 Corinthians 5:17: “Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, the new creation has come: The old has gone, the new is here!” Let this verse inspire us to shed what no longer serves us and embrace the new life God has in store.

As we move through May, let us be a community that supports one another in our journeys of faith. Together, we can foster an environment of love, compassion, and growth.
